Our firefighters participate in auto-aid and mutual-aid (MABAS) agreements with our neighboring communities and throughout Macomb County. Ambulance response and medical transport is provided by MEDSTAR Ambulance. ![]() The Fire Department responds to all high acuity medical emergencies using non-transport, advanced life support fire engines. All of our firefighters are paramedic certified and operate under the Macomb County Medical Control Authority protocols for emergency medical responses. The department responds to about 3,000 EMS related service calls annually. Since that time the department has evolved in to a full service organization. The fire department was first established in 1921 to provide basic fire protection to the City and its residents. In addition to emergency response, the fire department also conducts fire investigations, fire inspections, and public fire prevention programs. They take great pride in their ability to mitigate emergencies in a professional and efficient manner. The fire department members are highly trained fire fighters and paramedics. The Eastpointe Fire & Rescue Department responds to all reported fires, high acuity medical emergencies, rescue situations, and hazardous material incidents.
